California Technology, Trade, & Commerce Agency. This site is a comprehensive resource for doing business in California, including information on professional and vocational licenses, permit assistance, and a downloadable business license handbook.

CalGOLD. "Business permits made simple," provides businesses with information on permits and other requirements of California agencies at all levels of government, including addresses, telephone numbers, and links to agency internet web pages.

County of Orange. This site contains links to county agencies and local municipalities.

U.S. Business Advisor. Provides access to federal government information and assistance on a wide range of topics including finance, international trade, and taxes.

EMPLOYMENT

California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Information and brochures related to sexual harassment and discrimination are available at this site.

California Department of Industrial Relations. This site provides information related to labor standards enforcement (wage and hour laws), Cal OSHA (job safety pamphlets and regulations), workers' compensation, etc.

California Employment Development Department. Information about state employment taxes, disability insurance, and independent contractor reporting is available at this site.

United States Department of Labor. This site contains valuable resources of interest to employers including a "small business handbook," downloadable posters, and information on retirement plans.

United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The EEOC enforces federal laws related to discrimination on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, and disability under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Their site contains information on compliance with such federal law.

United States Immigration and Naturalization Service. Information for employers and downloadable forms (including form I-9) is available.

United States National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB investigates unfair labor practices by employers and labor unions. The text of the National Labor Relations Act and information related to the Act's enforcement are available at this site.

California Code of Regulations. The CCR site contains the full text of all regulations adopted by state agencies. The Code of Regulations (formerly the Administrative Code) is keyword searchable and regulations are retrievable by section or title.

California Legislative Counsel. This site provides information on matters pending before the state legislature as well as the full text of the State Constitution and all 29 California Codes, with keyword search capability.

United States Code. The full text of all 50 titles of the U.S. Code, searchable by title, popular name, section, or keyword is available here.

United States Code of Federal Regulations.

United States House of Representatives. The House site contains information on matters pending as well as links to individual members and committees.

United States Senate. Pending bills, hearings, and links to senators and committees are among the features of this site.

California Franchise Tax Board. This is the official site for information, forms, and publications related to State income tax.

California State Board of Equalization. Information about sales, use, and property taxes is available here.
